Fresh Dog Food Recipes

There is a carefully crafted blend of oils in many of the fresh dog food recipes at NomNomNow, as well as the fats in animal protein. The fats found in our recipes are primarily saturated fats, which dogs tolerate very well; they don't have the same issues that humans do with saturated fats, while also being able to reap great benefits.

All of our NomNomNow recipes are supplemented with fish oil, which includes Omega-3 fatty acids that are critical for learning and development. In addition to fish oil, you may also find canola oil, another rich source of long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids, or sunflower oil, which helps provide a nice sheen to the coat and support healthy growth. All of these are 'the good kind' of fats and help balance your dog's meals.

There is a carefully crafted blend of oils in many of the recipes. Of course, the animal protein and meats that are present within the diet are also going to contain fat. These are primarily saturated fats, which dogs fortunately tolerate very well and do not have the issues that humans have with saturated fats.

In addition to those fats within the individual components of the diet, we may add fish oil, and fish oil (as many people are familiar with) tends to have less inflammatory effects within the body, so these are omega 3 fatty acids like eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), which are really critical to learning and development and also controlling and offsetting some of the other more pro-inflammatory fats within the diet.

In addition to fish oil, you may find that there is canola oil, another rich source of these long chain or polyunsaturated fatty acids, or sunflower oil. Sunflower oil has a large amount of line oleic acid, which helps provide a really nice sheen to the coat and really support normal health, growth, and development. For all those reasons, you will commonly find one or more of those additive fats within the diets.
