On a freshly cooked diet like Nom Nom, you can rotate between different dog food recipes without a transition. The fresh recipes are similar enough in
Rotating recipes more than once per week can be excessive, so we recommend you do weekly recipe rotations at a minimum. Most nutrients are absorbed over long periods of time, so switching every month or couple of months may be the optimal strategy to benefit from all the different nutrients contained within the individual recipes.
Diets can, of course, be rotated, and often on fresh foods, you can rotate without a transition. Many of the NomNomNow diets are similar enough in composition (and of course all embrace the fresh concept) that there is typically no problem with a direct transition. The potential benefits of transitioning between the formulas are of course to make sure your pet, even though they are going to become super excited about fresh diets, do not become bored of a particular flavor.
Certainly all of the diets have different nutrient profiles and as a result, over time when you change those foods, you benefit from the specific nutrients contained in individual proteins, vegetable ingredients, or even the essential fat composition. If you were to change, there is no reason why you have to change every other day.
